The Grange Bowls Club (formerly Smiths Sports) is located at:

Tennant Close, Off Stanley Road,
Rugby Warwickshire.
CV21 3UE

Brief History

The Bowls Club  was originally formed in 1945 as part of the Lodge Plugs Sports facilities. It was part of a large sports complex offering sporting facilities for its workforce.  The company was sold and in 1997 the sports complex was also due to be sold.  A group of passionate bowlers were determined to keep the bowls section going and after lengthy negotiations with Smiths Industries they brokered a deal that cemented the future of our lovely club and The Grange Bowls Club was born. The Grange Bowls Club is privately owned by the members and as such it is responsible for the day to day running costs. From electricity, water rates, bar licence, buildings maintenance and upkeep of the green to name but a few. All these costs have to be found each year in order to keep the club going.

How do we do it? – by the hard work and diligence of our members.  We raise funds through annual subscriptions, fund raising social events, bar takings and a small amount of sponsorship.  We have an active committee who are responsible for the day to day running of the club. All our helpers, officers, bar staff and committee are unpaid volunteers.

We are always on the lookout for new members. We operate a range of membership options from junior and social only to full playing members.
