We had a great turn out in wonderful weather for our first tennis tournament of the year. Contestants were paired up in advance to even things out. We played an American tournament with an unusual format where each rubber was played as an open-ended tie break for a fixed duration of 15 minutes to ensure we finished in plenty of time to enjoy much deserved afternoon nap in the sunshine!
Refreshments cakes and nibbles were in plentiful supply to keep energy levels and spirits up and at least everyone now knows how to play a tie-break!.
Jackie and Colin turned out worthy winners with Graham and Martin in 2nd place.
